I wish I were in France... One of my favourite Argento Films (the second being "Tenebre")

Johnny ... Those 20 minutes have not been part of " Profondo Rosso " since its original release, even in the Italian version ... They were cut out for obvious pacing reasons ... The onle part that was ever used was the intro when Hemmings is speaking to the band ... Those 20 minutes RUIN "Profundo Rosso" ... I would suggest seeking out the Spanish DVD titled "Rojo Oscuro" ... Unfortunately it is croped at 16.9 ... But at least you will get the film at its original power

Are you kidding?
Those '20 minutes' were originally CUT from the US release of 'Profondo Rosso', and were intended to be in the film. If anything, the additions make clear the examination Argento is staging between culturally constructed definitions of male and female identities.
There are problems with the AB 'Profondo Rosso' release (the end credits), but they're not what you're referring to. 'Profondo Rosso' NEEDS that 20 minutes, which makes it even more of a classic than it already was.

The Anchor Bay attrocity I had to throw away and re get the original British release because the audio on the AB release was a complete joke and ruined the film ... They have done the same with Profundo Rosso and added 20 minutes of limp material that had been taken out for a reason ... AB padded out what is an amazingly taught thiller into a meandering mediocrity ... I can't wait till they loose the rights to them and a decent company releases them

How is this any better than the superb Anchor Bay DVD that came out years ago?
